Full
fibre broadband provider Hyperoptic is boosting the
speed of its entry-level product to provide 5x the
upload speeds and an increase of up to 30Mbps in
download speeds - without introducing any price
rises. The new 50Mbps product launches today (19
August) offering an average of 50Mbps download and
5Mbps upload connections.
Hyperoptic has
also introduced a flexible, no strings roll monthly
promotion offering the new 50Mbps package for just
£23 a month. Its 150Mbps and 1Gb (1,000 Mbps) roll
monthly prices have been dropped to £26 and £45
respectively - the same as its 12-month deals*.
Existing Hyperoptic customers on
20Mbps and 30Mbps download/1Mbps upload packages
will receive a free upgrade to boost their speeds to
the new market-leading, 50Mbps entry level package
(including 5Mbps upload).
CEO & MD Dana
Tobak, CBE said: “Most broadband providers have
ridiculously slow entry level products and they all
charge more for slower speeds. Consumers in today’s
digitally enabled world expect fast, reliable
connections and it’s wrong that big providers
continue to offer inferior products for higher
prices. We want to encourage people to check what
they are being charged to see if they can get faster
connections for less money.
We all
know the importance of fast download speeds and
with the increase in home working, video calling
and sharing of digital content, families across
the country are increasingly demanding faster
upload speeds.
“We have boosted our entry-level
upload speeds to be 5x faster to respond to this
demand. We encourage others to follow our lead
- to offer what we believe is now the minimum
requirement for up and download speeds.
“Satisfied customers getting
great service, speed and reliability don’t need
to be tied down and we want to encourage
consumers to switch so were dropping our 30-day
roll monthly prices and are confident that once
customers give us a try they will be glad they
did.”
Hyperoptic’s
network is built from fibre that goes all the
way to the building – which means customers
receive advertised speeds, no matter how many
people are online and what time of day it
is. It’s 1Gb product is the fastest broadband
available in the UK - almost 3x faster than
Virgin’s top speeds and over 10x faster than the
average BT or Sky speeds.
